DO YOU RECOMMEND A TRIAL
We highly recommend the bride having a hair and makeup trial. It gives us as stylists a general feel for your individual hair and skin needs. The trial is a time for trying different styles and changing things around. It is basically a collaboration of your ideas along with our recommendations - this is where our expertise comes into play
and we can try different styles and create a course of action for the actual day.
WILL THE WEDDING DAY LOOK EXACTLY AS THE TRIAL DID
At the trial we use minimal hair products in case of any changes, we also assess your hair to determine whether your chosen style requires setting, extensions and volume. On the wedding day we use more products, set the hair,
letting it cool down naturally creating volume and a sleeker desired final style.
Everyone’s interpretation of makeup is different, at the trial we determine your perfect makeup style focusing on your desired coverage, eye colours, contouring and lip colour. We can add, take away and change almost anything at the trial so that on the wedding day your makeup will be a more refined look of what we both discussed
and agreed on as your final look.
BOOKING YOUR TRIAL
We are available for hair and makeup trials from Tuesday through to Thursday.
HOW LONG IS A TRIAL
We book 1 hour each for hair and makeup. If you are unsure and are wanting to try
more than one style we suggest booking you in for a second trial.
We want you to feel 100% comfortable on the day and sometimes the ideas you initially thought of may not suit,
so don’t feel you have to compact everything into one hour.
WHERE DO YOU DO THE TRIAL
We are a fully mobile styling service and do not have a workplace set up for hair and makeup.
We come to you with all our gear and have everything on hand.
We travel anywhere in the Wellington region free of charge, Further north incurs a travel fee.
WHEN TO DO A TRIAL
We recommend 2-4 weeks before your wedding date to ensure you have a clear idea of the look and style you want.
We prefer to trial in the morning or early afternoon as the light is often best.
HOW TO PREPARE
Collect looks of hairstyles you like that match your own hair colour, length and thickness.
Also makeup looks of similar skin tones and eye shapes is always helpful for us as stylists.
We love Google images and Pinterest and recommend it for building ideas for all aspects of your wedding.
Please have a makeup free face. Clean dry hair, Washed the day before the trial and left in its natural state-
without any products or heated styling tools used.
HAIR PIECES AND VEILS
If you are thinking of having any hair pieces or a veil, have them handy at the trial. Don’t fret if you haven’t found
"the one,” as we can have a chat about what to recommend for the look you are wanting.
